Accelerated Certificate in Financial Planning
Qualify for the CFP® Certification Examination in just nine months!

What is it?
The Accelerated Certificate in Financial Planning program is a CFP Board-Registered program that will enable you to sit for the upcoming CFP® Certification Examination. The complete program is comprised of six modules (FP101-106) and can be completed in just nine months. The program is a combination of self-study and classroom instruction.

NEW! Our classroom instruction is available in a Traditional Classroom setting or a Virtual Classroom setting delivered via the web with a live instructor!

Traditional Classroom Program
For each module learners will receive a CFP Board required textbook, approximately 100 pages of pre-reading materials, and will attend a live class that lasts approximately four days. Once a module is completed successfully, learners may move onto the next session (or module) in the program. The entire program can be completed in only nine months.

Required Pre-study:  The program is divided into six classroom sessions (modules) with approximately six weeks of required pre-study before each class.  We recommend at least 60 hours of pre-study for the first course (FP101) and 80 hours of pre-study for the subsequent courses (FP102-106) prior to attending each classroom session. Learners are expected to come to class prepared.

Classroom instruction:  We offer the classroom portion of the program in several major cities. Each class lasts approximately four days. Classroom instruction is equivalent to 30 hours for the first course/module (FP101) and 40 hours for the remaining modules (FP102-106). At the end of each class, a final examination will be given. Learners must achieve a passing score of 70% or greater before proceeding to the next module.

Locations:  We offer this program in several major cities. If you are interested in enrolling in the Accelerated Certificate in Financial Planning program, but do not live near any of our class locations, please call 1-888-694-3568 to inquire about arranging a private class. If you have at least 20 interested people at your site, it is possible that a private class can be arranged for your location.

Virtual Classroom Program
For each module learners will receive a CFP Board required textbook, approximately 100 pages of pre-reading materials, and will attend a live class via the Web. Once a module is completed successfully, learners may move onto the next session (or module) in the program. The entire program can be completed in only nine months. Virtual students will also receive an emailed Welcome Letter informing them about the Centra platform and teach them how to access the class syllabus, class sessions and playbacks. For the September start, students will also receive a phone call from a Kaplan Financial Centra Administrator to ensure the students understand how to participate in this program.

Classroom Instruction: Classes are scheduled three days per week, three hours per class (equivalent to 21 hours for the FP101 and FP102 courses and 24 hours for course for FP103-106) and immediately follows the pre-study period. At the end of each class, a final examination will be given. Learners must achieve a passing score of 70% or more before moving onto the next course.

Unique Benefits of the Virtual Classroom include:

Playback feature. Easy access to program information is critical to a successful learning experience. The playback feature offers a convenient method for making-up missed classes or reviewing key course lectures and examples.
Flexible curriculum. The program is designed for the busy professional. Learners can study from the home, office, or on the road, and can plan their study schedule around their needs.
